You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers. Here are some questions that you may find yourself asking.
If I run for Team Sixty Feet and fundraise for the cause, how much goes to the children?
100%! Yes, you read that right. All the money that is raised through RunSixtyFeet will go directly to the work on the ground in Uganda. All of our operational costs are covered by Friends of Sixty Feet
Where to I find a list of races that I could join?
Click here to find other races and teams that may be close to home. If you don’t find a race near you, let us know. We’ll add it to the list and help you promote it!
Does it have to be a half marathon? What about a full marathon, 10K, etc?
It does not have to be a half or full marathon. If you’re motivated to run the whole 26.2 miles, then go for it! Want to run something shorter? That’s fine, too! You can run any race you’d like. Please check the other regional races there are teams for.
I want to be a team captain. What do I need to do?
Awesome! We’re glad you want to lead the way. Being a team captain is quite easy. Just head over to our Team Captain page, and it should provide you with all you need to be successful.
How much do I have to fundraise and how will Sixty Feet help me?
We’re suggesting that each of our Team Sixty Feet runners set a fundraising goal of $1,000. Don’t be intimidated! Look at it this way:
It’s 10 of your friends giving $100.
Or 20 of your friends giving $50.
Or 50 of your friends giving $20.
Runners should seek pledges from friends, family members, co-workers, classmates and neighbors in support of their efforts for SixtyFeet. Each runner will be given an online fundraising page that can be personalized with race details and your own personal story on why you’re running for these precious children in Uganda.
This page will provide a convenient location for your supporters to donate and an easy way to track and total your donations. Be sure to share information from the Sixty Feet website and blog as another way to share the amazing work that is being done in Africa.
How/when do I turn in my pledges?
Funds can be donated online via your personal fundraising page, by check, or even cash. However, we all know you should never send cash in the mail. So take any cash donations and deposit them into your bank account and either mail us a check, or send them online through your Team Sixty Feet donation page. We are asking each participant to turn in all funds raised prior to your race. Checks can be made mailed to:
2451 Cumberland Parkway Suite 3526
Atlanta, GA 30339
Checks should be made payable to Sixty Feet, Inc., with RSF-2014 and your name on the memo line.
I’m in! How do I sign up?
Simply go to our Team Sixty Feet page, choose whether you are running in Raleigh or in a different race, complete the form, submit your payment and you’re on the team! We will be in contact with you via email regarding your personal fundraising page and additional information.
- You will be responsible for also completing the registration for the race of your choosing. Register as soon as possible to ensure you have a spot in the race you’ve chosen.
Any other questions can be directed to Colleen Jobe.
We are excited about this great way to support Sixty Feet. Please spread the word and recruit as many team runners as you can. What better way to get in shape and get involved? Join us and run with the satisfaction of knowing you’ve helped to feed, clothe, educate and love the imprisoned children of Africa.
What are you waiting for? Let’s get running!
